Saku is a Finnish diminutive of Sakari, which itself is the Finnish form of Zacharias, ultimately derived from the Hebrew name Zechariah. The root Zechariah comes from the Hebrew elements zaḵar (meaning "to remember") and yah (referring to the Hebrew God), thus meaning "Yahweh remembers."
