Jachin is a Hebrew name meaning "he establishes," derived from the root 《kun》 (to establish). This name appears biblically and also recalls the enduring symbol of the temple pillar, linking the name to divine strength and stability.

Jachin is given to the son of Simeon in the Old Testament (Genesis 46:10; Exodus 6:15). More famously, Jachin appears as the name of one of the two copper pillars placed at the entrance of Solomon's Temple (Boaz being the other). These pillars were architectural symbols of moral steadfastness and perseverance and were destroyed in the Babylonian sack.
