Meaning & History
Eudoxia is a Greek feminine name derived from the Greek word εὐδοξία (eudoxia), meaning "good repute, good judgement". It is composed of the elements eu, meaning "good," and doxa, meaning "notion, reputation, honour." The name was popular in late antiquity and the Middle Ages, especially in Eastern Europe. It is closely related to the forms Eudokia and Eudocia, which are often used interchangeably with Eudoxia. Eudoxia has a masculine counterpart: Eudoxos.
