Chandrakanta

Chandrakanta is a given name meaning "beloved by the moon", and serves as the feminine form of Chandrakant. The name derives from the Sanskrit elements candra (moon) and kānta (beloved), so Chandrakanta can be interpreted as "she who is beloved by the moon" or "moonstone-like". Traditionally, the masculine Chandrakant is an epithet for the moonstone gem, and its feminine counterpart is used across the Hindosphere—especially in India and Nepal—for girls.
