Xanthus

Xanthus is a Latinized form of Xanthos, a name of Greek origin meaning "yellow" or "blond" (from Greek ξανθός xanthos). In Greek mythology, Xanthos is the name of several figures, including a king of Pelasgia and a king of Thebes. The name also appears as a river god; Xanthus/Ocean speaks flows into Asia Minor. The Latinized form Xanthus arrived via Roman literature, appearing in uses as both a personal name and a toponym.
