Kyung-sook is a Korean feminine given name, an alternate transcription of the Korean Hangul 경숙 (see Gyeong-suk).
Etymology
The name is composed of two Sino-Korean elements: gyeong (경, 京), meaning "capital city," and suk (숙, 淑), meaning "good, pure, virtuous, charming." While this hanja combination is common, other character combinations are possible.
Popularity
Kyung-sook was among the most popular names for baby girls in South Korea in the mid-20th century. In 1950, it was the seventh-most popular name, rising to fifth place by 1960.
